Salisbury & South Wilts Railway Society

This is a reasonably accurate model of Padstow Station as it existed in the 1950’s set in the Southern Railway area of British Railways.

All of the buildings have been scratch built using actual measurements and photographs taken on sight visits or using published photographs. Some buildings are covered in real stone found on the station site.

The track is proprietary but all of the points are hand built. All stock is off the shelf. Some services are operated by “foreign” locomotives due to unavailability of the suitable model. The operation sequence is based on the timetable for the line in the late 1950’s.

The layout will be extended in the future to accommodate the newly constructed Metropole hotel.
